Sunday June 15th, 2008, was the date of the annual British Heart Foundation
London-Brighton Bike Ride. This is an event that has, for many years now,
attracted thousands of cyclists who choose to spend a free Sunday pedalling or -
in some cases - roller-blading from Clapham Common to the seafront at Brighton,
some 54 miles away.
2008 is the second year in succession that I've taken part, and I have to say
that, with a couple of minor reservations, was a thoroughly enjoyable day
I'd like to take the opportunity to offer huge thanks to my brother
Graham, who has generously donated time and petrol money in both driving
me to London the night before and collecting me from Brighton
afterwards, and to Chris & Annette for putting me up in New Malden the
night before. The fact that Annette is a great cook has nothing to
do with my choice of pre-ride residence.
More to appear idc.
