Barnaby Bear in Hong Kong:Mr. Bird, Shona, Gemma and I left their house and drove to the airport at 12 o'clock. Mr. Bird said that in Hong Kong, which is where we are going, the time is 8 o'clock in the evening. I don't understand this, how can it be one time here when it's another time somewhere else. I wish my cousin Pooh was here, he could ask Owl why this is.We left the car in a big car park. There are so many cars I really don't know how we will ever find the car again, but Mr. Bird says he will find it when we get back. I hope so, I don't want to stay there looking forever. We got a small bus from the car park to a big building which is called Terminal 4. We went inside and stood in a big queue which Mr. Bird says we have to do to have our bag put onto the airplane. This took about 25 minutes and a very nice lady gave us our tickets to get on the plane. We then had to go through something called Customs, where we showed our passports and were checked to see if we were carrying anything metallic, which has something to do with a thing called security. I don't seem to have a passport - I must ask Mr. Menham about this when I get back.We had a drink and something to eat, then went to look for our plane. On the way Mr. Bird collected some money which he said we would need in Hong Kong. Finally, after what seemed like ages we had to start queuing again to get on the plane. A very nice lady checked our tickets and wished us a pleasant flight. Our plane was a Jumbo Jet, which Mr. Bird said was also a Boeing 747-400. I think it's funny that some things have two names. It is a big plane and can carry over 400 people and I think a few bears like me but I didn't see any. When we took off it was dark and we did see a few fireworks because it was Bonfire Night. Thankfully none of the fireworks came close to us.After take off, we had tea which was nice. The girls had fish and chips for tea, with yogurt, fruit and some sweets. And some orange juice. I didn't eat too much because I didn't feel very well. Instead I went to sleep, so I didn't see much of the flight or any of the films which were showing on the televisions. |
